Join us for a 2-day CEU workshop for mental health providers to learn active-allyship tools to enhance their clinical skills and create practice settings that are affirming and welcoming to transgender and gender nonconforming folks. More than just a "trans-101," this workshop will challenge the ways we hold privilege and how to use that privilege to create change. Participants at all levels of familiarity and trans awareness are welcome to attend. Participants may enroll in one or both days.
Day 1 : Identities and Experiences
Introduction to trans identities, historical context, and relating participant experiences. Deconstructing gendered messages, building deeper awareness around trans and non-binary identities and experiences.
Day 2: Moving Beyond Ourselves
Further deconstructing and understanding of gender binaries, active-ally practices and tools. Identifying active-ally behavior within the context of therapeutic work. Vignette practice.
